As the first day of 2018 comes to a close in freezing weather, I am cheered by the prospects of the year to come. Surely good wine and great experiences will be part of the picture as will interesting new places and people. What I truly wish for is of course peace on earth but short of that, I hope my cup and yours will be overflowing with joy and good wine.

My New Year’s resolution is to post something on Avvinare every single day of 2018. I aim to make it interesting and informative as well as consistent. In May it will be 10 years that I have been writing this blog. Hard to believe but true. It’s been somewhat secondary these first years of my family life but I am looking forward to getting back to some more time dedicated to this part of my life which actually does mean a lot to me.

I celebrated my New Year’s with a great bottle of Ferrari as well as Graham Beck’s sparkling Pinot Noir, two wines that are house favorites. I would love to know what graced your table. Whatever it was, I hope it made the evening celebratory for all. Salute!!
