Wine Wednesday: Les Chaumes Oeil de Perdrix Rose

This week’s wine Wednesday I celebrated with this lovely Swiss rose made from Pinot noir. It’s actually available in the states which is surprising because so little Swiss wine is exported. I found it on wine-searcher for $15.

The winery is called Cidis and is a cooperative of sorts started in 1929. I could drink a case of this wine during a boat trip around the lake. I had it yesterday on a beautiful restored steamboat from 1910 called La Suisse. The boat was incredible and the wIne hit the spot after a beautiful day. Switzerland has many grape varieties but the four most widely grown are Pinot noir,  chasselas, merlot and gamay. This was the wine list on the boat.
