Happy August – Something Old and Something New

It’s August 1st and the summer is coming into a new phase and so am I. It’s been a minute or maybe a few years that I have not been consistently writing here or anywhere. Between work, loss, family responsibilities, and my lovely growing son pictured above at 11 at Space Camp Graduation, many things have taken a back seat. What’s old is the excuses for what I have not been done, what’s new is I am just going to them and to enjoy all of it. I had a birthday a few weeks ago and there’s nothing like a new year to make me take stock and look forward and back at the same time. Oddly, this blog has more traffic than ever before in the 18 yes 18 years I have been writing it. According to a more tech savvy friend, it’s probably AI mining it for content. Not sure if I should be pleased or creeped out but in any event.

I will be posting more content here and also on my two substacks – my personal one Susannahselections and the one I share with Katarina Andersson, All That Wine where we just hosted a month long course on winery communications. We plan on having monthly or bimonthly meetings starting in September. For now, I hope you are heading out to the beach, the river, the pool, or just the grass. I know I am. Cheers to more summer to come for all.

  1. Space camp!!!!! Please let him know kid me is super jealous and adult me is so happy that he had this unique experience.

    • Aimée – I will absolutely do that. He loved it and felt extremely fortunate to have gone. Of course he wants to go back. The Rocker Center was amazing and the camp was super well run with loads of space simulators and the like. We are both really happy about his experience. I personally want the jumpsuit :). Susannah
