This week’s Monday Musings is about Social Media. I was/am a late adapter to all forms of social media. Now I’m active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Clubhouse. I have a blog and a podcast, three websites, and more. Yet nothing I have ever posted got more than 2000 likes. Strangely on my birthday I posted a glass of bubbles with a super short reel on Instagram with the bubbles rising and unbeknownst to me, my son chatting away about space in the background. Wouldn’t you know I got 10.7K views on that Reel. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy, I think it’s funny but it just shows that I have misunderstood what people want on the Instagram platform. Yes short funny videos, no all those hours of comments on Grape Varieties and wine education. It’s really given me food for thought about my strategy on that platform and others.
