Today’s Monday Musings is about study groups. I am currently studying for my Spanish Wine Scholar exam at the Wine Scholar Guild. The class is taught by Rick Fisher. He wrote the class and gives great engaging lectures. What has made this experience even more fun and rewarding has been an amazing study group that we created. We have members across the US, in Puerto Rico, in the Caribbean, and in Canada. It’s been a truly collective and collaborative effort. It’s been so many years since I’ve had a wine study group or a tasting group. It’s a wonderful part of wine study and for everyone studying for any wine class, I highly recommend it.
I’ve never been a big study group person – but during Covid, several of us WSET Diploma students from all over the world formed one . . . and almost a year later we are still going strong! Best of luck with your group and your SWS studies!
Hi – I hadn’t been in a study group since 2008 when I got my WSET diploma. It’s really been fun and helpful. Cheers, Susannah
