While today’s weather doesn’t fit my idea of a picnic, American wines seems like a perfect option on this chilly day in May. It’s also in keeping with Memorial day. There are so many wines coming from all 50 states today that the choice is vast and plentiful. California, Washington, Oregon and New York are the big four but wines are made everywhere now. Sparkling, still, red, white and rose. Even blueberry wines which fit the red, white and blue theme. I will happily drink one today and salute the fallen.
I do not come from a military family except for the generation that fought in World War II so I am not spending today visiting a cemetery but I am thinking of all those families who have lost people and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
I read a beautiful opinion piece yesterday by a veteran who said he is also remembering all of the fallen from other nationalities who supported American troops.
